Hogwarts Legacy – How to Catch a Thestral – Super Easy Guide

Wazzup everyone, welcome back to another guide on how to catch thestral in Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch. This also works on PC, Playstation and Xbox.

To catch a thestral in Hogwarts Legacy, completing quest number 31, ‘The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and The Loom,’ is a prerequisite. If you haven’t found it yet, don’t worry; simply continue following the main quest line, and you’ll encounter it.

I’m currently outside Hogwarts, on the east side of North Ford Bog. Just a little bit to the north of where I am, you’ll discover some amazing thestral available for capture. But before we head there, it’s crucial to ensure we have the correct spells equipped.

If you’re uncertain about how to change spells, refer to our video in the card section above. For this tutorial, I’ll rely on the Glacius spell as the primary option and keep Levioso handy in case the unicorn attempts to flee.

Furthermore, I’ll utilize the Disillusionment spell to prevent the unicorn from detecting and escaping. Lastly, ensure you have the nab-sack prepared.

Now, let’s mount our broom and catch some thestral beasts in Hogwarts Legacy. When you arrive at the Thestral’s den, cast the Disillusionment spell and approach your target. Once you’re near enough, cast the Glacius spell, then swiftly employ the nab-sack and start pressing the “Y” button on your controller.

You’ll need to complete 5 full circles. If the unicorn attempts to flee, utilize Levioso and the nab-sack once more. Remember to continuously press the “Y” button vigorously; that’s the technique that worked for me.

Make sure to check if the thestral is male or female. If you are able to catch one of each, you can breed them. I’ll show you how to breed beasts in Hogwarts legacy later on.
