Sony Pictures reportedly got completely riled up over Dakota Johnson’s comments about the failure of Madame Web.
“A lot of people at the company are questioning her power as a movie star, and [believe that] the way she reacted to the film will come back to haunt her. Not every movie is going to work, but a lot of hard work is invested in all of them, even in the bad ones, and for the lead actress to trash the movie sends a bad message,” a source told the publication.
In recent days, actress Dakota Johnson admitted that she wasn’t surprised by the failure of Madame Web shortly after its release. The lead believes that she probably won’t make another film like this again.
In a very subtle and discreet manner, the actress who played the lead role in the film showed that she wasn’t pleased with the experience at all and even agrees with the criticism the plot received.
“Unfortunately, I’m not surprised that it went downhill the way it did,” she said in an interview with Bustle. “It’s not cool to be a part of something trashed, but I can’t say that I don’t understand.”
