While creating your character in Starfield, one of the many traits you can choose is called “Dream Home.” This trait allows you to visit and eventually purchase an off-planet luxury house. In this video, we’ll explain what this trait does, where to find your dream home, and what you can do with it once you’re there.

The Dream Home trait can be selected when you first create your character in Starfield. It grants you access to a customizable luxury home located on the planet Nesoi in the Olympus system. However, there’s a significant trade-off – you must pay off the mortgage at the Gal Bank in New Atlantis. The mortgage for the house amounts to a staggering 125,000 credits, and the Gal Bank does not allow you to make partial payments. Fortunately, there are some options available.

To initiate the quest and visit your house, you need to follow these steps. First, select the Dream Home trait during character creation. Then, progress through the main story quests until you reach New Atlantis and meet Constellation in the lodge. After the story revolves around the artifact, you’ll complete the “One Small Step” quest, which will trigger the “Dream Home” mission.

To start the “Dream Home” mission, head to the Gal Bank in New Atlantis and speak with Landry Hollifield in the commercial district, following the quest marker. He will explain your options: paying the 125,000 credit mortgage in full, surrendering the house to foreclosure, or paying a weekly 500-credit interest fee to retain access to the house. Note that the 500 credits are solely for interest and do not contribute to the mortgage’s principal.

The only way to fully own the house is by paying the 125,000 credits all at once. To locate your dream home, open the mission log and select the mission option to visit your dream home on Nesoi. Then, press the “Show on Map” button. This will guide you to the Olympus system and show you the location of your dream home. Land on Soy and follow the path to your high-rise estate.

Approach the front door of your dream home, where you’ll be prompted to make the interest-only payment of 500 credits. Once paid, you can enter the house. Inside, you’ll find several rooms, a second floor, and even a balcony area.

In the living room, which is the first room you enter, you’ll notice a panel on the wall that opens a decoration menu. Here, you can let your imagination run wild and decorate your dream home as you see fit, provided you have the necessary resources. And that’s it!
